![]() ![]() To some degree, we can feel the strain - particularly in the long, long interlude in which the woman (Blanca Lewin) dances around the room for an entire song. This is, in essence, a gimmick film, and the challenge for writer-director Matias Bize was to figure out how to keep the magic going long enough to stretch the film to feature length. The rest of the film takes place in and around the bed and involves a long conversation, which makes it a little like "Before Sunset," only without scenery and without sexual tension, but with generous sexual interludes. Then they admit they forgot each other's names. The narrative is stripped down, in more ways than one, and takes place entirely in a motel room, in which two people, who have just met at a party, go at it in a big, happy way. This Chilean film never found distribution in the United States, but it deserved to. ![]()
